Partners meet-up in Nijmegen

Collaboration, local stories, and a shared drive to tackle energy poverty together.

From April 14th to 16th, SCEPA project partners from across Europe gathered at the HAN University of Applied Sciences in Nijmegen for a three-day partner meeting full of energy. The gathering offered a dynamic mix of workshops, field visits and exchange sessions, all with one clear goal: the never-ending drive to tackle energy poverty together.

Public symposium: involving Residents in Energy Poverty Approaches
At the public symposium on the 15th op April, more than 70 external participants from across the Netherlands and beyond came together at HAN University of Applied Sciences to exchange ideas, research and real-world experience. HAN University of Applied Sciences shared insights from their study into energy poverty approaches in Northwest Europe, and outlined a way forward in systematically including resident perspectives. Riane Kuzee-Hoogeveen and Jo Bothmer shared compelling insights from such a perspective.

In several interesting workshops more than 70 participants (among other municipalities, civil organizations and researchers) shared and learnt from each others’ approaches to mitigating energy poverty.

Local practice: Energycoach in action

One of Mondays' highlights was the meeting with a local energy coach, who guided partners through a home that had successfully undergone an energy transition. This hands-on experience offered a powerful and personal perspective on what the energy transition looks like in practice, beyond the policies and data. Afterwards, we shared a delicious, warm meal in the Foodhub (in Huis van Compassie), where community members are welcomed every monday for a free meal and conversation.

Looking ahead: Midterm in Paris

During the partner meeting, we also took time to share important project- & monitoringupdates and dive into key focus areas for the months ahead. The programme turned the spotlight on ChatLocal, our local AI-platform, and an update on our Community of Interest communication. With new ideas, stronger networks and practical tools, the SCEPA partners are now preparing for the next milestone:
